| SURFACE SERIES |
The Surface Series investigates the narrative
capabilities paint and color possess. Thick & luscious
oil paint raked onto the canvas by a grout trowel, palette
knife gouges, and dynamic color combinations have something
to say to whomever will listen. The tension of the color combinations
generates an energy on the surface that lures the viewer into
the painting. In the monochromatic pieces from a distance the
viewer sees simply a large painting with one flat color but
a closer inspection reveals a seductive surface texturally
alive with a plethora of color narratives.
